Maui-ed!

Kyle and I are only going to be in Hawaii for another year so I want to take advantage of it as much as I can. So for me that means visiting all the other islands! I had been looking at flights to other islands and they were super cheap so I was planning on taking Kyle for the three day weekend. Well, the hotels are so expensive, I didn't really know what there was to do, and Kyle had his CFA Challenge the same weekend. Turns out my roomies were planning a trip for the same weekend! So I decided to go with them to get a taste of Maui before I took Kyle. I am so glad I booked that ticket cause we had just a blast! My roomies are the best : )

Nothing better than a Jeep for an island cruiser ;)

This is the view from the house we stayed at...right on the beach!

On Sunday we went to Lahaina. It's a cute touristy strip with tons of souvenir shops.

Then we went to Kaanapali beach and we ate at Nikki's Pizza. There's tons of hotels and shopping. Me likey!

Then coming back we did the road to Hana! It road was out of control but so beautiful! It seriously looked like Ireland.
Then on Monday we had the most perfect day at the beach! It was super warm, the water was perfect, and the sand was super smooth! Oh, and I successfully boogie boarded for the first time!

So it's actually mating season for whales right now so Hawaii is making a killing off of whale watching tours. They pop up on Groupon all the time and I always tell myself that the next time I see one I am going to buy it. I think I've let about 3 or 4 slip by me already. Well, at this beach you could hear the whales from under the water! IT WAS AMAZING. Now I just want to buy one EVEN MORE!

We ended the trip with the one and only Krispy Kreme :) Don't know when we'll be able to have it again!

I have my hubby back!

One of Kyle's majors is finance and to get more involved, he joined the CFA team at our school. This past Friday, his team competed in the CFA Challenge against two other schools. Their presentations were on the financial status of Bank of Hawaii. They started preparing for this in September and it consumed their lives. Kyle literally had no time for me and I did not take it well because I am so needy. I think twice he ended up staying at the school for 24 hours...on a Saturday. It was ridiculous.

So a few people from our school made the hour trip downtown to go support. We ended up being late since the traffic was so bad. Once we got there the first team had already started presenting and they weren't letting anybody in. Well, we thought that BYUH was the first to present so we were SO bummed. Once they let us in we realized that it was a different team presenting! We were all so excited, it was so funny. So we got to watch our team and you could tell they were super nervous but they did a great job! Afterwards, there was a small banquet where they announced the results and recognized the schools. Our team didn't win but I'm just so glad it's over! Then Kyle dropped me off at the airport so I could go to Maui, and that's a whole other blog post ;)

Blogger Fail.

I just realized I fail at blogging and I am doing it all wrong.

1) I don't have a white background - It's like a trend to have a white background. Like all the big bloggers have white backgrounds, I guess cause it looks cleaner...idk. I recently changed mine but it's still ugly. Since I made this blog I haven't had a layout I liked. I am seriously lacking the html skills I had when I used MySpace in middle school.

2) I don't have an SLR camera - WTF. Again, all the big bloggers have super nice cameras. Recently, I have been wanting one so bad but they're so expensive! I am totally open to suggestions on how to get a good deal on one.

3) I don't have a cool blog name - The Perspective of a yada yada yada? WTF is that?! It's not cute, short, and memorable. Maybe one day something cute will pop into my head. Ha yeah right, when has that ever happened?!

So what does this all mean? Just that I fail even more at being a Mormon wife. Sigh...

My Obsession.

Okay so I'm about to admit something totally embarrassing but I don't even care because I KNOW like 95 percent of other girls do it too. So here it goes...I am totally obsessed with watching makeup tutorials on YouTube. Lame right? Well I've been watching them ever since high school but recently I have been super addicted because I found two gurus that I'm obsessed with. The first one is Carlibel55. I've been following her pretty much all year. First of all she's gorgeous and does great looks! She uses a mix of high end products and drug store products which is why I really like her. Her videos are short and she doesn't babble too much. Then literally like last week I discovered Jaclynhill1. She isn't as popular as Carlibel55 but I know she will be soon. At first she is really annoying but she knows her stuff. Oh and just to warn you, she is a MAC snob. I am like convinced I need all MAC products after watching her. It's bad. So if you secretly watch makeup tutorials on YouTube too go check these gals out! And please tell me your favorites so I can watch them too! ;)

A recap of 2012!

Wow, I am so glad this year is coming to an end! It has been pretty crazy so I hope 2013 will be much better! Here is a recap of what happened this year.

I got accepted to my dream school but ended up hating it.

Stayed in and ordered pizza for Valentine's Day
 Saw The Vow with Kyle
 Did a sushi making class!
Kyle transferred to BYU-H and I bawled my eyes out. I went into depression mode.
Mom and Lyn visited me in Provo to cheer me up!

My beloved cousin, Alice Demske Hansen, passed away.

The family came up to Utah for Alice's funeral. We were able to go exploring in Salt Lake City!

Decided to abandon my apartment contract and plane ticket to road trip home early with the fam back to Texas! {So glad I made that decision}

Went to my cousin's high school graduation!
Spent my birthday with my family but no Kyle :( I got a canoe though! haha
Went wedding dress shopping with my family! {need to do a blog post on this}

Took a road trip to Minnesota with my family. This is the log cabin my aunts and uncles grew up in.

 Spent the 4th with family!

Moved to the great state of Hawaii to be reunited with my love and go to BYU-H!

 I got engaged!
Made some great friends!

I got two new beautiful baby cousins! Jamie and Ariana!

Married my soul mate!

This year has been bipolar to say the least. Kyle and I went through our toughest phase in our relationship and I have made the worst grades ever in my academic career. Yet I spent an amazing summer with my family and got married in the Laie Temple! I am so excited to see what next year has in store!

Peanut Butter.

When our family came to stay for our wedding, they stayed in a rental house and bought TONS of food. So when they left we got to keep everything that was left over. While we were putting it all away in our new apartment, we found an almost full jar of peanut butter! Now it wasn't the small jar either, it was a big, brand-named jar of peanut butter! We were so excited because we don't usually buy peanut butter cause it's like $6 a jar! It's embarrassing I know.

So today when I went into work I saw a gift on my desk. I got a card, Bath & Body Works goodies and a Costco-sized jar of peanut butter! I had told my boss the story when it happened and she remembered.

It's amazing how such a small gesture can make someone feel so special. I truly believe that this is what Christmas is about. It's not about seeing who can spend the most money, but really showing someone that you care by remembering that they're poor and buying them a huge jar of peanut butter ;).

The semester is over!

So I wasted my Friday night by making a 74 on my finance final tonight -_-. Not exactly how I wanted to start my weekend but hey, the semester is over! I was actually not as stressed as I usually am for finals. I think having so much anxiety from the wedding made finals feel like nothing. I feel like I worked a lot harder this semester than I did during the summer. I literally spend on average 12 hrs on campus everyday. I had class starting at 8:40-10 then work til 5, dinner, then accounting and finance labs until 11. Even though I feel like I worked so hard, my grades still won't show for it. It's so frustrating to me because getting a B is like getting an A for me now. Hopefully next semester I will be able to kick it up a notch. But in the mean time, I get to spend Christmas in Hawaii with the love of my life! :)

****sorry I don't care if you think all my posts are boring now because I'm not getting married anymore.
